Express Yourself

Last week at Borrowdale School, we celebrated Children’s Mental Health Week. With the current difficulties another lockdown brings to us all, we wanted more than ever to shine a spotlight on how important looking after our mind is, as well as our bodies.

To celebrate the week, we joined the national theme and put extra focus on expressing ourselves creatively. We looked at individualised ways of showing the world who we are and expressing our thoughts, feelings and how we see the world through activities that make us feel good. We joined the nation for an online assembly and centred our learning around exploring some of these different activities ranging from art to music to cookery to crafting!

Pupils were challenged to capture moments of this throughout the week, creating a whole school album of pupils and staff sharing moments of creativity and enjoyment. We hope this uplifting video will inspire the community to make room in their own lives for some self-expression and to look after their own wellbeing in these strange times.
