Welcome to the first of a weekly home-learning catch-up, a way for me to keep in touch, to celebrate the learning that has taken place this week at home, to share some ideas tips and tricks and to update you with information you may not receive otherwise. Class teachers are in touch directly with you and the children via Dojo, and this will carry on regardless of this weekly newsletter.
Before I write the bulk of this email, please allow me to express my thanks to you, our school parents. We know it is not easy to educate your own children at home, and we really hope this isn't going to last for too long. None of us had much time to prepare ourselves for this, but because of your engagement we've had a successful week in which pupils have participated in daily zoom lessons, the work in their education packs and over 300 messages were sent by teachers to families via Dojo!!! The children have really engaged well and by engaging your children with their learning, you have shown them that you value their education. You are also showing us that you value the teachers' efforts to support your children. This has been greatly appreciated!
Changes were made to home learning during and since the last lockdown, and I know that things will evolve during this lockdown. None of us were trained to teach online! We will try to keep things fresh and keep an eye out for good ideas to keep improving our offer. Please don't hesitate to get in touch with comments, suggestions or questions. We're in this together!
With many thanks for your continued support,
