Week 2 almost complete and I'm hearing lots of positive feedback about the great work the pupils are doing whilst they are educated remotely. I know you all put a lot of effort into this and this will stand the children in good stead when they return to school, so thank you!
Free school meals have been high profile this week and his week, because the government ended up embarrassed about their own standards for food parcels. I would like to reassure you that the food parcels that were distributed from our school were well received and the feedback on them was very positive. Please find some information below on the latest position on school meals.
You might catch a glimpse of me on ITV border news tonight. I haven't seen it yet and I hope it will be ok. I told the reporter how important it is for the quality of remote education that every child has equal access to IT at home without having to share. I also told him that at Borrowdale School we hadn't waited for funding to come from elsewhere to overcome this digital barrier, and that we invested in iPads for all pupils. They were keen to get this good news story on the telly and sent a reporter to the school.
There has also been some news this week about the roll-out of COVID-19 Lateral Flow Testing for Primary School staff. This is good news, but obviously some more work to implement. The details are still lacking on this one, so more about this next week.
With many thanks for your continued support,
