This is an exciting opportunity to join our lively small school in the heart of the Lake District and make a real difference to the lives of children with additional needs! The governors and headteacher of Borrowdale C of E School wish to appoint two caring, dedicated and highly motivated Teaching Assistants to join the staff team from 1st September. One of the posts has become available due to the retirement of one of our Teaching Assistants this summer, the other post has arisen due to increased support needs in the school. The hours for both roles are 27.5 hours per week, term time only.
In this varied role the successful candidates will, under the supervision of the class teachers and SENCo, work with individual children in the mornings and support them in small group activities and mainstream class lessons in the afternoons as well as support the teacher in the classroom and outdoors. Both roles will involve working with children who may have Emotional and Behavioural Needs, Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) needs. Previous experience of working with children on an EHCP is therefore desirable.

The posts are available from 1st September and are fixed term until the end of the Summer Term 2021 as they are reliant on time limited funding for pupils with SEND.
